NEW YEARS EVE COUNTDOWN & AULD LANG SYNE - 27 SECONDS TO MIDNIGHT
Просмотров 1 тыс.6 месяцев назад
Starts with Big Ben chimes then gives a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 countodown. The Big Ben BONG goes off at exactly midnight if you start the track at 27 second to midnight - 23:59:37s Then plays Slade's Auld Lang Syne - starts off as a slow singalong then erupts into a bounce around kick ass party piece!

Sorby ProEdge - Very Long Grind on 1/2" Bowl Gouge with 15deg Horseshoe & 45deg Bevel - Terry Crouch
Просмотров 8 тыс.3 года назад
Possibly the only way to achieve this long grind! Use the table to produce a 15 degree ‘horseshoe’ then use the 35 degree measure on the Proset (this will equate to a 45 degree bevel once completed)
Successfully get a Long Grind on a ProEdge - 1/2" bowl gouge - MODIFICATION REQUIRED!

WOODTURNING - I Made a YIN & YANG from Burl and Resin! No Talk!
Просмотров 2393 года назад
So, I made a Chinese Yin & Yang from a large Red Mallee burl, some spalted beech and a blop of resin! I tried recording a 'voice-over' but some small technical problems plagued me so, feeling my life was ebbing away, I left it with no talking.. it makes sense.. if not just give me comments, questions and I'll promise to answer! However, if you're like me and you find watching woodturning videos...

    Nice video. The toolholder(jig) can also be set at an angle. How about that? I dont find any explanation about that. Thanks

    • @Bigtel1970
      @Bigtel1970 2 месяца назад

      It can be.. but that's a factory set angle that (preferably) needs to stay as a constant. Chances are that by altering that, all other jigs are effectively going to not work correctly?

    Wow, great playing. Classical technique on a steel string. Difficult I suppose

    • @Bigtel1970

      Thank you! The only real challenge is the neck width compared to a classical neck.. but after a minute of playing I think your hands adapt to it. I’ve got the silent classical too which is stunning 👌

    The angle indicated on the measuring template only applies to the first (innermost) hole. To get the usual 45°, you have to measure at 40 for hole 2 and 35 for hole 3 (the outermost).

    Thanks for sharing this video. Had exactly the same problem. First cut the horseshoe at 15 degrees to discover that didn't work, cursing the bloody instruction video. I solved it by cutting the horseshoe at 20 degrees instead of 15. That only just gets it right, the wings are less long though. Lost quite a bit of my bowlgouge in the proces... Love your solution

      Hi, yes - in this instance all controls are from the mixing desk. If you wanted to add another powered speaker you could use the MAIN OUT jack outputs to it OR the Headphone OUT socket.. or, obviously, the MONITOR OUT output

    • @Bigtel1970

      Yes, that’s exactly what that is! I think it gave me a bevel that was almost unusable! To be fair, this grind I made on this video was pretty poor to use too - a bit catchy. I much preferred the fingernail grind I worked out on my other video - that’s what I always use now

    Anyone give me any info on these... I bought 2 myself, I've run them through a external desk, and through the speakers themselves.. doesn't matter where I have the levels on the speaker I get all channels clipping on the limits.. and I'm not even running them in big venues I can have the channels set at 12 o'clock and there still clipping.. if these are set to do venues of around 250-300 people I must be doing something wrong in the set up.. its driving me insane.. the sound quality at a low level sounds excellent.. as soon as I out any sort of power through them they clip and dip out the sound.. surly I'm doing something wrong because they don't seem like with 2 of these it would run 100 people let alone 300 people seems like its struggling sound wise.. can anyone give me any heads up on what I could be doing wrong?? Cheers

    • @Bigtel1970
      @Bigtel1970 6 месяцев назад

      Hi! Try turning the channels to 3 o’clock or more then turning your output gain/volume down on your desk. It may be that the signal is coming through far too hot from the desk 👍

    I wonder if anyone could help me, I've got 2 x stagepas 1k and a desk, I've set up today and played to 50 people and the system just doesn't sound like it's carrying its self at all.. I think I could be setting up wrong and I've tried it this way and still don't seem to be getting any power from the system.. has anyone any idea as too why or can explain the exact way to set up the speakers up to run together from a desk, I've got a feeling I ain't setting them up properly.. thanks

    • @Bigtel1970
      @Bigtel1970 7 месяцев назад

      @jamieansbro5216 There’s a possibility that the cables/connections are not up to scratch. I’ve recently sold this pair to a friend and he went from his desk using XLR cables but had bought adapters that took the female XLR ends into 1/4" jack plugs. When tried, the sound was weak. But when I used my male XLR to jack cables it worked perfectly. Could this be a possibility? A way to find out would be to output from the desk with XLR cables but this time go straight into channels 1 and 2 on the Stagepas and see what happens

    • @jamieansbro5216
      @jamieansbro5216 7 месяцев назад

      @Bigtel1970 thanks for the reply, I've set up this evening and ran left and right from the desk into line 1&2 into the speaker and the quality of the sound is substantially better... the manual doesn't make any sense I can't believe that yamaha are putting the set up wrong in there manual for extending of the system... I'm gonna give it a whirl and see how I get on... many thanks 👍
